Taylor Rae Epperson, 25 of Colorado City finished her race and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, January 16, 2026, with her loving family firmly by her side at the Mitchell County Hospital.
She was born to Jeremy and Valerie Franco Epperson on January 28, 2000, in Selma California.
There are too many words to count when asked to describe Taylor. She was a proud Christian woman and one of the strongest women her family has ever seen. Family and community were her strongest passions in life. She was a loving daughter, sister, niece, and cousin, always making time for family. She was her sisters protector and the type of daughter any parent would be blessed to have.
Taylors strong Christian faith and love of Jesus made her the perfect young role model for so many younger girls in this community she loved so much. Even when fighting the good fight, she did not waiver from her selfless nature as all she ever wanted was for everybody else to be okay and for them to love Jesus. Taylor was a competitor by nature as she was a strong athlete, but she was humble and knew the meaning of teamwork; which would have made her a great coach. In her spare time Taylor enjoyed playing sports, mentoring future strong women, singing to her Lord and eating food as she was a huge foody. She was truly an angel here on earth, and the legacy that she leaves behind will be felt for generations to come.
Taylor is survived by her parents Jeremy and Valerie Epperson and her sisters Malia Epperson, KK Epperson, and Harper Epperson all of Colorado City, by grandparents Jerold and Linda Epperson of Colorado City and Alicia Franco of Colorado City, great-grandmother Oralia Pineda, and by her boyfriend Aleks Duenes of Big Spring.
