

Thurman was born on May 17, 1929 in Erath County to Herbert and Blanche Harris Dannheim.
Thurman was a man who enjoyed his time in the military spending over 20 years in the Navy working until his retirement from there and seen three wars, WWII, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam, once retired he loved going to the local schools and sharing his stories and experiences from the wars with the children. Later in life he was active and never missed a chance to go and watch the Biker’s come in for the Run for the Wall program that comes to Colorado City every year, often times sharing his stories with those that were making the journey.
He is survived by his wife Maxine Dannheim wo he married at the New Life Bible Ministries on June 29, 2013, his chidren Stacy Dannheim of Ardmore Oklahoma, Myra Dannheim of Dallas, and Michael Dannheim of Florida, and by his stepchildren Mik Apperson of Wylie, Mark Apperson of Dallas, John Bell of Colorado City, Ronald Bell of Colorado City, and James Bell of Bullard. Also surviving is his sister-in-law Brenda Moore and her husband Jimmy.
He was preceded in death by his first two wives Wanda Dannheim and Billie Dannheim, by a brother, and by his son Curt.
A memorial service for James will be held on Sunday, Januaray 24th at the New Life Bible Ministry at 2pm.
