

Vera was born in Dallas Texas on July 25, 1923, the daughter of Leslie and Opal Pollard Williams.
She was a deeply religious woman who knew God and his words and lived her life the way God intended, raising her family in a Christian home. Vera was a woman who grew up in the Great Depression so she knew how to handle her finances and made sure to help her neighbors often getting involved in local charity work. She also had a passion for writing and spent years as a columnist for a local newspaper in Hamilton.
Vera is survived by her son Mark Shaffer of Baltimore Mariland, her grandchildren Marcos Shaffer, Ericka Shaffer, and Moises Shaffer, and by her church family.
She was preceded in death by her brother K.F. Williams
A funeral service for Vera will be held on Monday, February 1st at the First Baptist Church of Colorado City with the Rev. Jerry Shields officiating, interment will follow on Tuesday, February 2nd at the Restland Cemetery of Dallas. A visitation will be held at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home on Sunday, January 31st from 3-5 pm.
