He was born on June 24, 1986 to Willie and Margie Rivera Davila Sr. in Big Spring.
Poppy was a caring and loving man who loved his family with all his heart, especially his daughter Milania. His free spirited often-time goofy nature was infectious and could light up a room with smiles and laughter. Between his love of family and cooking (especially barbecue) it was no surprise that Poppy’s place was a common gathering place for his family, a place where they could unite and join in good times, he truly was the glue of the family. He was a huge dog lover and will be dearly missed by his three dogs Chevy, Corky, and Rhino. In his spare time Poppy could be found engineering things, hunting, fishing, powerlifting, going to Ranger games, cruising around in his ’69 Camaro, or enjoying his music (both playing and listening).
Poppy is survived by his wife Mallory and their daughter Milania of Abilene, by his parents Willie and Margie Davila of Colorado City, and his sisters Rosemary Czajkowski and husband Adam of San Angelo, Lisa Davila-Lang and husband John of Sitka Alaska, Cecilia Davila-Almazan and husband Anthony of Big Spring, and Miranda Davila-Barrera and husband Elias of Loraine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be held for Poppy on Saturday, April 9th at 10 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Colorado City with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating, burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery.
