Alice Marie Abdalla

COLUMBIA - A funeral mass for Alice Marie Abdalla, 91, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2025 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with visitation following.

Ms. Abdalla died Tuesday, July 15 2025. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Elias John Abdalla and Marie Susanna Sabbagha Abdalla.

Alice attended Ursuline high school and received her registered nursing degree from St. Francis Xavier School of Nursing in Charleston. She enjoyed a long career as an Ob/Gyn registered nurse and developed many friendships with the women whose babies she helped to deliver.

Alice was a devoted lifetime member of St. Joseph's catholic church, where she played the organ and was a member of the choir, and had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

She was an avid card player and a celebrated award winning needle point artist. Most of all, Alice prized her family and loved her many nieces and nephews, as if they were her own children. She will be sorely missed.

Surviving are her sister Anita Alessi and brothers Alfred (Mary) and Raymond (Nancy Hines) and sister-in-law Beverly Abdalla and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother Joseph, brother-in-law Thomas Alessi.
