

Amelia was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on July 18, 1929. As a young adult, she moved to Washington, D.C. where she graduated Business College, and then met her husband, Ed Lee Irby, and were married for 65 years. Amelia enjoyed life with Ed Lee and their twin daughters. The beach was Amelia’s favorite place with her family. Amelia was also an avid golfer, and enjoyed flying to many fun places, as a member of The Breakfast Club, in her husband’s plane. Amelia was a member of First Baptist Church of Newberry where she made friends with the ladies of the Ruth Class.
Amelia was predeceased by her husband, Ed Lee. She is survived by her twin daughters, Pat Gregg (John), and Pam Seawell (Cal); three grandchildren, Carlee Sizemore (Parker), PJ Alonzo (Marcus), Corey Seawell (Ashlyn); and seven great grandchildren. Amelia loved life and was devoted to Jesus, her family, and friends. Amelia will be missed by many.
Amelia will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A private memorial service will be held. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
