Mr. Chiulli, husband of Patricia Carol Lewis Chiulli, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he was a son of the late Alfonso Chiulli and Amelia Manzoli Chiulli. Surviving are his wife and high school sweetheart of 60 years; children, Deborah Gangone (Joseph) of Mahwah of N.J., Brian Chiulli (Susan) of Memphis, Tenn., Michele Priester (Randy) of Columbia, S.C., Cyndi Chiulli of Ramsey, N.J., Tony Chiulli (Stacy) of Ramsey, N.J.; sister, Alice Tringali of Fishkill, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides being a semi-professional softball player in his late twenties, he had a lifelong commitment to sports. After being a dedicated coach for his five children in basketball, football, baseball and softball, he proudly continued his coaching tradition with his grandchildren. Although not becoming a golfer until his fifties he competed in and won many local golf tournaments. He had a love of gardening, landscaping and meticulously tended to his goldfish and Koi pond.
A dedicated and proud husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, coach and friend, he instilled in his children and grandchildren the values of family, hard work and respect.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3600 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205.
