Anne Chapman Boots

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Anne Chapman Boots, 36, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. There will be a social gathering at PITAS, 1800 Taylor Street, Columbia, after the service from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Boots passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of John Paul Chapman and Leigh Reid Chapman of West Columbia.

Anne received her BA in Political Science with a minor in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. While in college, she worked for Bryan Boger, and after graduating she progressed to a project leader at BCBS. Anne was a great mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. As a good friend of hers said, Anne will always be a feeling, an experience and a commanding presence. She was a “foodie,” and ate escargot before she was ten years old and loved it. She loved General Muir and Cakes and Ale in Decatur, Georgia. She loved good ballet, music, The Beatles, and the Gamecocks. Her love of baking was a gift from her Grandma Gladys, and when Anne felt well, she enjoyed doing aerial yoga with her friend, Sarah. Anne raised $1800 for the Breast Cancer walk in Charlotte in 2014 and walked 39 miles over a Saturday and Sunday.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, John R. Boots, Jr. of Columbia; daughter, Olivia H. Boots of Columbia; brother, John P. Chapman, Jr. of West Columbia; nephew, Cory Matthew Chapman of West Columbia; father-in-law, John R. Boots, Sr. of Hastings, N.Y.; and mother-in-law, Cathie Boots of Bryson City, N.C.

She was predeceased by her uncle, Arthur Kirkland “Kirk” Chapman, Jr.; maternal grandfather Elliott Hall Reid; paternal grandfather, Arthur Kirkland “A.K.” Chapman, Sr.; cousin, Arthur Kirkland Chapman III; maternal grandmother, Jean Evans Reid; and paternal grandmother, Gladys Kahlich Chapman.
