We are heartbroken to share the passing of Arthur Brett Raven on May 25, 2025. Brett, as he was known to most, lived with a spark that was uniquely his. Full of humor, warmth, and a spirit that brought joy to those lucky enough to know him.
Brett had a way of lighting up a room, whether with a perfectly timed joke, a good story, or just his presence. He loved the simple things: peaceful days on the lake, the loyal companionship of his dogs, and time with his family—whether in a quiet moment or a house full of laughter. Ending the day with a cigar and a Braves game was one of his favorite ways to relax. These everyday moments brought him a quiet happiness and reflected the rhythm with which he lived—unpredictable at times, but always genuine.
Brett is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl, who stood beside him through life’s ups and downs. He was a very proud father to Matthew and Amanda Raven, and a devoted stepfather to Christina, Katie, and Cody Ballard. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, all of whom shared in a lifetime of memories and love. Brett was also cherished as “BB” by the many grandchildren brought into his life through his stepchildren—a role he embraced with warmth, humor, and love.
Though we wish we had more time with him, we will carry Brett with us always. In every smile he gave us, every lake day we spend, every baseball game we catch, every loyal pup that brings us comfort, and even in the familiar whiff of a cigar on the breeze—we’ll feel him with us, just like he always was.
He is deeply missed, and forever loved.
No service has been scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on Brett’s behalf to JDRF (https://www.jdrf.org/), supporting juvenile diabetes research.
