ELGIN - Audrey Borner, age 64, of Elgin, S.C., passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024. She was born in the Philippines in 1959 and at the age of 8 her, her parents and younger sister moved to Ontario, Canada.
While in high school, her family relocated to the United States, first to Houston, Texas and then settling in Southern California, where she would later meet her husband, Philipp. After nearly a year together, he would propose to her on a flight over Greenland, on their way to Switzerland. A year later, her daughter Michele was born. They purchased their first home in Chino, CA shortly after her son James was born.
Early in life, she worked in a hospital, caring for newborns and other patients, where she was dedicated to making sure they always felt comfortable during their stay. She later moved to private insurance and then served 19 years in local law enforcement as the assistant to the Police Captain, and later to the Chief of Police. Shortly after retiring in 2020, she, her husband, and son, moved to South Carolina to live out the rest of her years.
Her favorite hobbies were finding new recipes for her family to taste, going fishing and traveling around the world with her son, a mama’s boy. They were best of friends and shared everything. Audrey was a beautiful wife, amazing mother, and a devoted daughter. She was survived by her husband, son and daughter.
