Daisy Mona Harris

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Daisy Mona Harris, 89, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Southern Palms Memorial Gardens, Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Harris died Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Born on Devine St. in Columbia, August 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late David Onslow Elliott and Nora Stevens Elliott. She was a graduate of Dreher High School and the University of South Carolina. Mona had a long and happy life. She enjoyed dancing in her youth and summers in Myrtle Beach. Mona later moved to Myrtle Beach with her family and remained there for over forty years. She was always the life of the party, loved to laugh and make others laugh. Her family and friends will miss her smile and the joy she brought to every day. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Harris, Leigh Harris; granddaughter, Tara Moore; great-grandson, William Nicholas Moore; and brothers, Tom Elliott, Dr. Ronnie Elliott and David O. Elliott, Jr. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Jack Harris, D.D.S.; daughter, Laura Harris; sister, Dorothy Tart; and brothers, Robert C. Elliott and Jack R. Elliott.
