COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Dorothy Williams “Dottie” Bratton will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Section “G”. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is in charge. Mrs. Bratton died Sunday, September 13, 2015. Born July 2, 1923 in Columbia, she grew up in Tilt’in Acres, the daughter of the late H. Miller and Lottie Brazelle Williams. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and enthusiastically participated in the life of the church. She was a graduate of Columbia College. She delighted audiences around the Midlands with her operatic and dramatic performances. Among the many community organizations supported by Mrs. Bratton were the Opera Guild, the Drama Club, Columbia College Women, Morning Music Club, Executive’s Club, the Symphony League and the ASPCA. She retired as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration. She was predeceased by her husband, Randolph Bratton.
