Dottie was born on November 10, 1925 and was raised in Batesburg, SC. As a teenager she met a dashing young preacher by the name of Shockley Few. They fell in love and married on July 5th, 1945 and raised a family of four boys.
She attended Columbia Bible College now known as Columbia International University CIU and went on to have a successful radio program called “A Date with Dottie” where she shared Christ and her love of cooking!
Dottie loved to share her faith in Christ and was an absolute Prayer Warrior. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She loved spending time with friends and family - especially the grandchildren - and was so very proud of each of them.
Her sense of humor was underrated. She loved to laugh and to make others do the same with a joke or other anecdotes. But more than anything, it was her effortless gift to make everyone feel loved.
She is in Heaven now with her savior Jesus Christ, hugging her Shockley, and eldest son, Gil.
She will be sadly missed by everyone including her sons, Johnny, Jimmy and Steve (Angela); daughters-in-law, Belinda Few, Bonnie Sell and Susanna Daleure; grandchildren, Kelli Few Dupree, Todd Few, Nigel Irons (Christy), McKenzie and Jonathan Irons (Jennifer), Caroline Few, Ellen Few Orenstein (Matt), Hilary Few Huett (Bret), Erin, Annabelle and Lillian Few; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Colin Orenstein, Lucas and Ethan Crowe, Clara Huett, Travis, Celee, Mia, Asher, Adam, Corbin, Atticus and Judson Irons, Ashton, Cullen, Brock and Chase Dupree; and one great-great-grandchild, Olivia Irons.
Memorial donations may be made to Woodland Hills Community Church, 2626 Ashland Rd, Columbia SC 29210 or Women to Women.
