Foye Gibbons Ouzts

WEST COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Foye Gibbons Ouzts, 96, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ouzts passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018. Born in Turbeville on December 22, 1921, she was a daughter of the late William Stull Gibbons and Kizzie Robinson Gibbons.

Foye was retired from the S.C. Highway Department after 30 years of service. She was a member of Holland Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Sylvia Stone (George), Wayne Gibbons (Ann), Glenn Gibbons (Gail), Carolyn Pearce (Rocky), Judy McNair, Kent Gibbons (Connie), and David Gibbons (Lourie); great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Jesse Furtick, Jr. of 46 years; her second husband, Thomas H. Smith of eight years; and her third husband, Joseph Earle Ouzts of four years. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Thomas Alton Gibbons and William Kenneth Gibbons and sister, Anita Gibbons Ardis.
