Frances Rodes Scarpas

Frances graduated high school and attended college in Boston, M.A. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She was a member of many organizations to include; the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, Daughters of Penelope, National Hellenic Society Paideia of Connecticut, Orthodox Chaplaincy program of OCA, NY.

Frances enjoyed ceramics, gardening, baking, carpentry, and dedicated her life to helping people.

A funeral service for Frances will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and Trisagion Prayers from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. A burial will be in Saints Mary and Martha Monastery, Wagener, S.C. A memorial luncheon to be held after the burial at 2:45 p.m. at the Grecian Gardens Restaurant 2312 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC 29169

Surviving are her daughter, Stacie Koutrakos (George); grandchildren, Nicholas Koutrakos (Summer), Stephanie Koutrakos-Simoni (Elton), Peter Koutrakos (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Leo Koutrakos, Pano Koutrakos, Mariella Simoni, Sebastian Simoni, Georgia Koutrakos, Sophia Koutrakos; and God daughter, Patricia O’Neill.

She was predeceased by brothers, George Rodes, Greg Rodes; and sister, Lillian Schurian.
