HOPKINS - A graveside service for Grace Shealy Phillips, 91, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service. Mrs. Phillips died Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Born in Eastover, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Lloyd and Viola Martin Shealy. Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Lower Richland High School. She was a gentle spirit who loved her garden and the outdoors. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn G. Phillips of Hopkins, Jackie Turner and her husband, Bill of Lexington; grandchildren, Abby Turner of Gastonia, N.C., Will Turner of Columbia; brother, Leland Shealy of Hopkins; and sisters, Hester Browder of Hopkins and Agnes Nichols of Virginia Beach, Va. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester Lawrence “Jack” Phillips and sisters, Ruby Hodges and Annie Mae Shealy. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
