Harvey Franklin Dowd, passed away on October 7th, 2022. He was born in Gaston, SC to John and Elva Dowd. Harvey married Perrie Dowd and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Harvey was dearly loved by his family, friends and his precious black, Yorkie-poo, "Star", who often watched television with her dad in the evening.
Harvey was a kind, gentle soul and always willing to assist those in need without judgment. He is survived by his wife, Perrie Dowd; his brothers, William Dowd, Hoyt Dowd and Thomas Dowd and their families; his sister-in-law, Dale Ziglar; his niece, Robin Reeves and nephews, Durham Tager, Henry Dowd and Nelson Dowd.
Harvey loved fishing, USC football, car racing, traveling, bluegrass and country music. He owned and operated Dowd Rentals & Construction and constructed and renovated many fine homes throughout his lifetime.
A memorial service will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
