

COLUMBIA – Jane Huggin Kennedy, a resident of the Still Hopes Retirement Community, died Saturday, July 21, 2018. She was born on March 12, 1927, in Westminster, SC, and grew up in Hogansville, GA. After graduation from the University of Alabama with a BS in Science, she married Richard M. Kennedy, Jr. from Birmingham. In 1963, the family settled in Columbia where her husband practiced law with the firm of Kennedy and Price. She was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club, the Rose Garden Club, Shandon Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Columbia Garden Club and Forest Lake Club.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Richard M. Kennedy, III and his wife, Catherine, and their children, Clayton Kennedy (Erica), Fleming Kennedy Fuller (Mike) and Drew Kennedy; and her daughter, Janie Kennedy Trouche and her husband, Paul, and their children, Timothy Trouche and Peter Trouche. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Darden and her brother, John Huggin, and two great-grandchildren, Camden and Mackenzie Fuller. She was predeceased by her husband and her brothers, Charles Huggin and James Huggin.
After a private burial at Elmwood Cemetery, a memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Still Hopes on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at Still Hopes. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
