Jennie Lee Duval

Jennie Lee (Moody) Duval, 78, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 17, 1946, the youngest daughter of Shelldonia and Arthur Moody, Sr. She grew up on Yonges Island, SC, and was a graduate of St. Paul's High School. After attending Winthrop College, she married her husband Dennis and lovingly began to care for their family. They were married for 56 years.

Jennie was a devout Catholic with a servant's heart. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer support to her family, friends, and colleagues.

She is survived by her husband Dennis, her children, Melissa Brown (Randy), Eliza Chandler (Andrew), Abigail Duval, and Maria Gorden; her grandchildren, Grayson Smith, Reagan Smith, Kayla Brown, Landon Smith, Kenzie Gorden, and Matilda Chandler; her sister Evelyn “Sister’ Glenn, and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Prisma Health Hospice for their loving care.

A memorial in Jennie’s honor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with a reception following the service. The Rite of Committal will be held privately at a later date.

Jennie was a wonderful wife, devoted Momma, and loving Grandmommie. She will be dearly missed.
