Karin was born September 3, 1936 in Berlin, Germany. Mrs. Delahunt immigrated to the US in 1967 and wanting to see everything, traveled the country by bus. After marrying Franklin Delahunt in 1972, they moved to Columbia in 1976 and made Columbia their home. She loved her family, friends, and animals. There were always animal members of the family including birds, turtles, cats and dogs. Having lots of flowers in the garden was a favorite hobby and she always complained in the summer when it didn’t rain…which happened often. She loved reading her murder mystery novels, but also read about anything from DNA to ancient civilizations. Conversations with her will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Janusz Carolian Anton Esser and Margarete Sophie Ilse Sannemann, she is predeceased by her brother, Christian Anton Janusz Esser, her husband, Franklin Delahunt and her beautiful and sweet dog, Zoey.
Those left to cherish her memory, include her daughter, Natasha Delahunt of Columbia; her sister Madeleine Riemann of Berlin, Germany; her sister-in-law Ingrid Esser of Berlin, Germany; her nephew Sven Esser of Berlin, Germany; and her niece Kerstin Esser of Frankfurt, Germany; along with her grand nephew Jakob, and grand nieces, Johanna and Charlotte.
