Kay Lynn Farmer

Kay Lynn Farmer, age 78, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on the evening of August 4. Born on January 6, 1947, Kay was the beloved daughter of Adrian Farmer Sr. and Marjorie Lewis Farmer. She is survived by her brother, Adrian Farmer Jr, of Colorado and her long-term friend and companion, Mark Grreen.

A proud, lifelong South Carolinian, Kay brought warmth and caring from all who knew her. She was born with developmental disabilities, but despite those barriers, she continued to grow emotionally and often surpassed the expectations of friends and family. She obtained her first driver’s license in middle age, managed her daily finances, and lived alone the last few years of her life, with support from her caregiver, Toni Gallman. She lived a life defined by quiet strength and compassion for all living things, especially her cats. Whether through her friendships or deep love for her family, Kay left a legacy of kindness and resilience. Kay’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the lives she impacted, and the love she gave so freely.
