Lucian "Lou" Riley Frost

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Lucian “Lou” Riley Frost, 85, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Frost died Monday, May 17, 2021. Born in Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Riley Frost and Minnie Mae Thompson Frost. He grew up and started working at the age of 5 on a dairy farm in Northern Kentucky. Lou worked during the day and went to college at night for 10 years, graduating at the University of Cincinnati in Industrial Engineering. He served as a regional manager for Overhead Door in Athens, GA. In 1980, he bought a local Overhead Door distributorship in Columbia and operated the business for 30 years successfully. Lou enjoyed Classical music, hard work, and was a very principled man who loved his family.

Surviving are his wife, Maureen Griffin Albertine of Columbia, SC; sons, John Frost of Columbia, SC and Mark Frost (Hope) of Land O’ Lakes, FL; daughter, Nicole Schuldes (Robbie) of Blythewood, SC; grandchildren, Heather F. Madden (Ryan), Megan Frost, Jarod Frost, Aiden Schuldes, and Liam Schuldes; two great-grandchildren, Atticus and Ashton; sister, Lucy Kidwell of Falmouth, KY; and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Lenora Fern Bonar Frost, a niece, and a nephew.
