Marlene Rivkin Riebman

COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Marlene Riebman, 88, who passed away on April 7, 2023 will be held at Beth Shalom-Arcadia Lake cemetery on April 10 at 12:00 noon. She graduated from Dreher High School and attended the University of South Carolina where she met her husband, the late Murray Riebman. Married in August, 1956, she graduated with an education major and taught 4th grade until she became pregnant with her first child in 1957. She left teaching to devote her life to her family.

She was a life-long member of Beth Shalom Synagogue. Surviving are; Davida Riebman, and wife Christine Bistany of MD; Michael Riebman and wife Laura of MD; Allison Riebman Leverett of SC; Steven Riebman of SC; eight grandchildren; Dana, Robin, Joshua, Rachel, Jaimee, James, Ashley and Jennings; and 4 great-grandchildren; Grace, Emory, Rider, and Haven. Marlene is also survived by her siblings, Tamara Halfon, Israel and Rose Anne Schulman, GA.

Her brother Maxcy Rivkin, MD preceded her in death in February 2023.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Murray Riebman, who passed away in 2017 after 60 years of marriage.
