Mary Elizabeth Padgett-Howell

COLUMBIA On Saturday, March 26, 2016, Mary Beth woke up in heaven to begin her eternal life. She was born November 14, 1980, in West Columbia, S.C., and was the daughter of Peter and Zelda Howell. She is survived by her sister, Sarah Padgett; precious nephew, Braylen Howell Padgett; and uncle and aunt, Andrew and Donna Milikin. Additionally, she leaves behind a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her first father, Gary G. Padgett. Mary Beth was employed for well over a decade at S.C. OB/GYN and most recently as medical assistant to David C. Holladay, M.D. She greatly loved her friends, including work friends, her patients, and those from the pageant world where she served as a judge for local, state and national pageants. Mary Beth was ill for several months and was so grateful for the outpouring of love from so many during a difficult time. A Celebration of Life for her will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Columbia and officiated by Dr. Robert Walker. The service will be followed by a greeting time in the church fellowship hall. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
