Mary Canada Trotter

COLUMBIA- Mary Canada Trotter, 63, died Wednesday July 9th, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born in Atlanta, GA the daughter of Wanda Rogers Canada and the late John Robert Canada. She was a graduate of East Carolina University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

In 1996 she began her career at AgFirst Farm Credit Bank where she took tremendous pride in her work as a CPA, mentor and friend. In 2022 she retired to enjoy time caring for her loving husband and throwing herself into her favorite hobbies: travel, baking, gardening and spoiling her grandson. She was a loyal and devoted friend and will be missed by many.

She is survived by: her husband, Henry Eugene Trotter, Jr of Columbia; a daughter, Charlotte Canada Trotter, of Columbia, a son Henry Eugene Trotter III (Carly) of Charleston; and grandson, Henry Eugene Trotter IV of Charleston. She is also survived by her mother, Wanda Canada of Wilmington, her sister Anne Canada of Wilmington, her sister Catherine Betor (Tom) of Asheville and brother-in-law Charles Owen Nation II of Georgetown. Mary was preceded in death by her father John Robert Canada and sister-in-law Allison Trotter Nation.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday July 18th, at Trinity Cathedral, 1100 Sumter St, Columbia.
