Michael A. MacInnis

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Michael A. MacInnis, 79, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. MacInnis passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. Born in Ottawa, Canada, he was a son of the late Benjamin J. MacInnis II and Dorothy MacInnis (Simily) of West Columbia. Michael served in the U.S. Army including a tour in Vietnam and the South Carolina National Guard, until his retirement. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Fort Jackson Boulevard. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching Braves baseball and spending time with his beloved wife Claudia.

Surviving are his wife, Claudia MacInnis of Columbia, SC; stepchildren, Renee Holland of Atlanta, GA, and Francis Gamble of Tampa, FL; step grandchildren, Joshua and Danielle Gamble; and brother, Robin “Rob” MacInnis of Augusta, GA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Benjamin “Skip” MacInnis III, and Kenneth “Kenny” MacInnis.

The family wishes to thank Amedysis Hospice Care for their compassion and care for Mike and our family.
