

Born March 27, 1943 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene Strickland and Francis Whittle Strickland. Patricia met the love of her life, William “Billy” Prince and they spent 53 loving years together before he preceded her in death.
Patricia S. Prince is survived by her son, Thomas D. Prince (Greg Gallo) of Seattle, WA; daughter, Kathy Prince Carter of Holiday, FL; three grandchildren, Rachel Hill of Gaston, Christopher Carter of Lexington, and Roger Carter (Heather Lyles) of Pelion; five great-grandchildren, Allesha and Chad Grosch, Caymen Carter and Adalyn Carter and Jasper Carter; sister, Brenda Laney of Colorado; brothers, Claude Strickland of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Don Strickland of Columbia, Nick Strickland of Columbia; brother-in-law, Robert Drafts of Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, MSG William B. Prince, her parents, brother, Thomas Eugene Strickland, Jr., and sister, Mary Elleni Drafts.
Patricia S. Prince was a loving, dedicated and incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was the matriarch of our family, a true Amazon, and exceptionally generous woman.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful and compassionate nurses, aides, and staff who gave such exceptional care and support to Ms. Prince and her family during her time with Heart of Hospice.
A visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024. Funeral service for Patricia S. Prince will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
