Paulette Townsend Ritter

COLUMBIA — A memorial service for Paulette Townsend Ritter, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Ms, Ritter died Friday, June 21, 2024. Born in Charlottesville, VA, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Spencer Townsend and Nancy Boatwright Townsend. She started at SCE&G In an entry level position and worked up to a supervisor roles during her career. Lastly, she worked as a Right of Way agent. While in this role she enjoyed getting out of the office and meeting new people. Once retired, Paulette dedicated most of her time to her granddaughter, who she spoiled every chance that was available. Paulette also had an unmatched love for her pets. For several years there was always a Boston terrier or two in her life. There was hardly ever a stray cat that wasn't taken in and becoming part of her furry family.

Surviving are her son, Brian Ritter; daughter-in-law, Amy Ritter; granddaughter, Savannah Jane Ritter; brother, Jerry Townsend; and sister, Sue Townsend.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, James Spencer Nolan Ritter, son Christian Ritter, and sister Lois Townsend.
