Peggy Kelley Teague

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Peggy Kelley Teague, 90, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Greenlawn Baptist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Teague died Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born in Hopkins, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Hamilton and Ethel Wearhan Kelley. She was a graduate of Lower Richland High School. A hard worker, she began working for the S.C. Department of Social Services in an entry level position and retired as a Senior Accountant.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. A member of Greenlawn Baptist Church, she enjoyed sewing and was a great cook. Her specialty was baking, earning her several ribbons at the State Fair.

Surviving are her son, Neville “Ned” E. Teague Jr., daughter, Rebecca Teague Madden; two grandchildren, Buck Brice (Talia) and Arthur Allen Madden. She was predeceased by her husband, Neville “Gene” Eugene Teague; daughter, Deborah Midgett; grandchild, Kelley Madden; and brothers, Harvey Hamilton Kelley Jr. and Russell Kelley
