COLUMBIA Our family mourns the loss of our beloved Richard E. Jordan, age 54. Richard loved life and the Gamecocks. He was an avid Gamecock fan and enjoyed many games together with his brothers and his Dad. He was a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church and was baptized at the age of seven. He was a wonderful son who enjoyed playing video games and watching TV. He graduated from Irmo High School in Lexington and was employed by Amazon as a Warehouse Associate until his illness overtook him. His favorite saying was “GO GAMECOCKS.” He was special and we will miss him dearly but will always carry him in our hearts. We will see him again. He is HOME, no more pain or suffering.
Surviving members of his family are his mother, Scarlett Smith; brothers, Anthony Jordan (Courtney), Stephen Jordan; father, Rick Jordan (Susan); sister, Lauren Ludwig (Shawn); several nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Greenlawn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Cancer Research.
Memories may be shared at www.dunbarfunerals.com.
