Sara Johnson Brumble

COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Sara Johnson Brumble, 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Brumble, widow of Mr. Evander Robert “Bob” Brumble, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018. Born on January 19, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Anderson Johnson and Ottie Peebles Johnson.

Sara grew up in Sumter and graduated from Edmonds High School, now Sumter High School. She was retired from Richland School District 1 and was a member Shandon Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sara worked tirelessly with her husband, Bob, in both the community and Greenlawn Baptist Church, where she was previously a member. She always had a kind and encouraging word and a delicious meal for anyone in need.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty Brumble Hoffman and husband, Dan, of Columbia, their daughter, Katherine Casey Barham (Bobby) of Columbia; daughter, Pamela Brumble Babbitt and husband, Robert M. “Bob” Babbitt III, of Hoschton, Georgia, and their son, Robert M. “Bobby” Babbitt IV and wife, Misty of Dallas, Texas, and his daughter, Austyn Babbitt; daughter, Bobbi Brumble Zimmerman and husband, Carl, of Columbia, and their children, Kafer, William and Grady Zimmerman.
