Yulisa Flores

A funeral service for Yulisa Flores, 21, will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Basilica of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Ms. Flores passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Born in Phenix City, Ala., she was a daughter of Jesus Flores Cuellar and Emilia Turcios Gonzalez. She worked as a helper with special needs clients with the S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation. She was a member of Basilica of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, where she received her baptism, communion and confirmation.

Yulisa graduated from Airport High School in 2020 and was honored by the S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation for participating in the Summer Institute in 2022 and 2023. She earned a certificate of completion of the TARGET Progran in May 2023. She loved to dance, sing, listen to music and would talk with anyone. Her smile and kindness made her the “life of the party.” Above all, she loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Camilo Flores of West Columbia; maternal grandfather, Ermenegildo Turcios; and paternal grandfather, Camilo Flores Turcios.

La Santa Misa Exequial de Yulisa Flores, de 21 años, se llevará a cabo a las 6:00 p.m. el miércoles, 2 de agosto de 2023 en la Basílica de San Pedro. La familia recibirá a los amigos en la iglesia desde las 16:30 hasta las 18:00 horas antes de la Misa. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, está ayudando a la familia.

La Sra. Flores falleció el martes 25 de julio de 2023. Nacida en Phenix City, Alabama, era hija de Jesús Flores Cuéllar y Emilia Turcios González. Trabajó como ayudante con clientes con necesidades especiales en la Rehabilitación Vocacional de Carolina del Sur. Fue miembro de la Basílica de San Pedro, donde recibió su bautismo, primera comunión y la confirmación.

Yulisa se graduó de Airport High School en 2020 y fue honrada por S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation por participar en el Instituto de Verano en 2022 y 2023. Obtuvo un certificado de finalización del Programa TARGET en mayo de 2023. Le encantaba bailar, cantar, escuchar la música y hablaría con cualquiera. Su sonrisa y amabilidad la convirtieron en el “alma de la fiesta”. Por encima de todo, amaba a su familia.

Además de sus padres, le sobreviven su hermano, Camilo Flores de West Columbia; abuelo materno, Ermenegildo Turcios; y abuelo paterno, Camilo Flores Turcios.
