Alcide Joseph Lacasse, age 100, of Saint- Georges, de-Beauce, Quebec, Canada, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025 at Saint-Georges Hospital.
Born on November 21, 1925 in Saint- Zacharie, de-Beauce, Quebec, Canada. Alcide led a full and vibrant life, marked by hard work, dedication to his family, and a love for his life. A logger from the age of 14, he also worked on his family farm, demonstrating a tireless work ethic that defined him throughout his life. Alcide moved his family to Concord, New Hampshire, during his logging and land clearing career. Retired and returned to Saint Zacharie for many years, moved to L’Oiseau Bleu where he was a longtime resident.
Alcide was passionate about life, and his hobbies reflected his lively spirit. He loved following the Montreal Canadiens, listening to music, line dancing, gardening, and helping others. He was known for his dedication, generosity, and love for family.
He is survived by his children: Ghislain Lacasse (Pauline), Desneige Mounsey (James), Michel Lacasse (Lori), Danielle Boissy (Bruce), Mario Lacasse, John Lacasse, Luc Lacasse (Peggy), Steve Lacasse (Pam), and daughter-in-law Kathy Lacasse-Baston. Alcide also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Alcide was predeceased by his first wife, Jeannette Roy, and his second wife, Adela Turgeon; his children Bibianne Lacasse, Micheline Lacasse, Rejean Lacasse, and daughter-in-law Sheri Lacasse.
Alcide’s legacy lives on in the roads he cleared, and the lives he touched. As you drive through the roads of New England, ask yourself: Did Alcide clear this?
A service in his memory will be held on May 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery.
