Andrea was born on June 24, 1968 in Munich, Germany, where she and her twin sister, Alexa, were adopted by David and Carol (Illidge) Hansen. She received her associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Lasell University in 1989, and the following year opened her own successful home daycare. After relocating her family to Bow, NH she became a volunteer EMT for the Bow Fire Department from 2002-2011. During that time, she began working at Longhorn Steakhouse in Concord, NH where she went on to work for the next 20 years. On June 17, 2001, she married the love of her life and her rock through all of life’s challenges, Thomas Whitcomb, who became the stepfather to her three daughters, Chelsea, Taylor, and Hannah.
Family and friends were the most important thing to her, they were her motivation. She worked multiple jobs throughout the years, which led her to meaningful lifelong friendships, most of which began while she worked as a bartender at Longhorn. When she wasn’t behind the bar you could find Andrea planning her next adventure, in places like North Carolina, Bermuda, Aruba, ATVing in the mountains of New Hampshire, or wherever she was needed by her daughters. 2020 provided Andrea with a lifechanging experience, she became a Nonna to her granddaughter Charlotte, who quickly became the light of her life. She loved to show everyone pictures and videos, often times more than once. Andrea will be most remembered for the love she had for the dogs that her and Tom rescued, whether he liked it or not, her generosity, infectious smile, and great sense of humor.
Andrea lives on through her father, David; her mother, Carol; her husband, Tom; her daughters, Chelsea, Taylor, and Hannah; her son-in-law Matt; her granddaughter, Charlotte; her twin sister, Alexa and her husband Alex; her brother, Derrick; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
