

Ann was born on February 1, 1946, in Exeter, NH to Anna and Raymond Tucker. She lived in Stratham, NH until eighth grade when she moved to Pembroke, NH. She graduated from Pembroke Academy. From there she went onto New England College and was enrolled in the teacher’s program. Her first teaching assignment was in Weare, NH teaching first grade. She left there to start her family. After many years, she became a substitute teacher and then went for her master’s degree while working at Pembroke Academy in the alternative high school program with disabled children. She received her master’s degree in General Special Education with a certification in Learning and Language Disabilities from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH. From there she took a teaching position in Hampstead, NH where she was a special education teacher for 16 years. After retiring she became a paraprofessional for three years working with autistic students and then as a substitute teacher and a tutor for several more years.
Ann loved doing crafts, working in her flower garden, and spending time with her beloved cats. She had an active social life where she enjoyed eating out with friends and spending time with a group of ladies she has known since grade school. She loved her home on Pleasant Lake in Deerfield where she spent time on her pontoon boat, sitting on her sun porch overlooking the lake and cuddling with her cats.
Ann leaves behind her life partner of 28 years Mark McCarrel who was loved and very dear to her. He is a very special person and loved Ann with all his heart. She also leaves behind two daughters Stephanie Brasley and her husband Kevin of Pembroke, Janna Culberson, and her husband Chris of Pembroke and four grandchildren Danyelle, Sophia, Chase & Chloe. A brother David Tucker of Deerfield, a sister Nancy McAuliffe of Hingham, MA and a niece and two nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Ann at a later date. It will be an opportunity to share stories, laughter and remember the wonderful person Ann was. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in honor of Ann to the Stratham, NH SPCA.
