
Barbara (Turner) Hawkins 84 formerly of Henniker, NH retired from Concord Hospital. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Walter Hawkins who she was married to for 56 years. She was born in Providence, R.I. and was a daughter of the late Herbert and Sarah (Bartlett) Turner. She was a 1946 graduate of Central High School in Providence. She moved to New Hampshire in 1969.
Barbara was a former member of the Order Of the Eastern Star, in Henniker, N.H., she was also a former member of The Ladies Aid Society Antioch Chapel in Johnston, Rhode Island. She was a member of the Hope Community Chapel in Franklin, N.H.
She was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Alice and Elmer Fullerton, Charles and Albertine Turner, Sampson and Florence Turner and Howard and Alice Turner.
Barbara leaves her three children; two daughters and a son; daughter Gene Carter married to Kenneth Carter of Webster, N.H., son Terry Hawkins married to Diane Hawkins of California and daughter Lee Higgins married to James Higgins of Webster, N.H. 8 Grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 10am-12pm on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord. Funeral services will take place at 12pm.
A chapel service will take place at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at 1:30pm with burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory can be made to Hope Community Chapel, 108 Hill Rd, Franklin, NH 03235; Friday Night Lights Youth Outreach or Assistant Intern Pastor Program, 108 Hill Road, Franklin, N.H 03235.
