

Carlene was born in Lebanon a daughter of Pauline and O. Wendell Gray. She attended Lebanon High School and New Hampshire Tech. Institute. She received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Franklin Pierce College.
Carlene was employed for over thirty five years in Sprague Electric Company. She then opened her own business, The Little V.I.P Shoppe, a children’s’ consignment store on Warren Street in Concord. After several successful years working with her daughter Sandy in this endeavor, she sold the business and worked at other consignment stores until her retirement in 2005.
She enjoyed several years as a Den Mother for the East Concord Cub scouts and was also a lifelong member of the Wesley United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher in her earlier years with the church.
Carlene enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting, and sewing all her life. She enjoyed sports and outdoor activities, especially visits to the beach. She was predeceased by a son, Steve Dahood in 2011 and a sister, Marilyn Truman.
She will be missed by her loving husband, Dwight and the many friends and children that were always the center of her life. These include 7 sons, John Dahood, Jim and Jen Hoyt, Stephan and Paula Dow, Scott and Vallerie Dow, Chris and Georgia Dow, Tim and Christina Dow, James and Jodi Dow; 2 daughters, Sandra and Mike Muller and Linda and Bob Bosa; a brother, Earle and Jackie Gray; a sister, Terri and Roger Dudley and a brother in law, Harry Truman. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, April 17 at 2:00 P.M. at Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church Street, Concord. Friends may call at Bennett Funeral Home one hour prior from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
