James A. Kelso, 89, died Wednesday at Pleasant View Nursing Home following a brief illness. A longtime resident of Bow, Jim was a highly regarded house builder and developer. Some of his sub-divisions include Bela Brook, Kelso Drive and Evergreen Drive all in Bow. He also owned and managed office buildings in Concord. In 1946 he joined the U.S. Army and served in Kobe, Japan. Unknown to many, Jim also graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduating, he decided that being a Chiropractor was not for him and chose the field of construction.
James was known for his honest business practices and sense of humor. He was also a long time member of the Shriners and Masons.
Jim is predeceased by his wife Barbara and son Jimmy; his parents were Elinor and James Kelso. He is survived by his sister Louise Wentworth of Springfield, MA; and sons, David Kelso and his wife Karen of Canterbury; Billy Kelso and his wife Cindy of Bow, several cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. At Jim's request, his services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bennett Funeral Home of Concord. Online condolences can be expressed at www.bennettfuneral.com
