Jessica J R. Ross Tate

She was born August 8, 1948 in New York City. She attended the Parsons School of Design in New York and graduated with a B.A. in art and theatrical design from Bard College in Annandale, New York. Jessica held a Master of Science in Education degree from Bank Street College in New York City. She was an early childhood teacher for 39 years.

During twenty four years of residence in New York City, Jessica taught kindergarten and parenting classes, wrote and illustrated two children’s books, and catered parties and dessert functions. She was an avid baker and cake decorator and catered pies to restaurants on Mount Desert Island, Maine where she spent summers for many years.

She moved with her family to Concord in 1991. Jessica was a devoted preschool and family teacher at the Concord Heights Preschool and Neighborhood Family Center for 15 years.

Jessica is survived by her beloved husband, Paul and her daughter, Meredith Tate both of Concord; she is survived by her mother, two sisters and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Saturday June 12 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. immediately followed by a memorial service at 1:00 P.M. at Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church Street (Brick Building) Concord. Interment will be private and held at a later date.
