

Lillian was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on May 3, 1923 the daughter of Germoe and Ruth Richards. She grew up in Pembroke, NH and graduated from Pembroke Academy in 1941, after which she attended the University of New Hampshire, class of 1946, where she received a Bachelors of Science degree.
Lillian worked as a Medical Technologist in several hospitals, including the Margret Pillsbury Hospital in Concord, Mary Hitchcock in Hanover and The Windham Community Hospital in Willimantic, CT.
In 1962 Lillian moved to Seattle, Washington after falling in love with Mt. Rainier, Puget Sound and the wonderful sunsets. She adored Seattle and called it her home for almost 50 years.
While working at University Hospital in Seattle, she earned her BA in Education from Western Washington State College and became an Elementary School teacher in the town of Federal Way, Washington where she stayed until her retirement in 1989. During her retirement, Lillian spent time volunteering on several Boards including the Outreach – Fauntleroy Church, UCC, the West Seattle Food Bank and Seattle YMCA. She was also a member of the Seattle Art Museum, the Mountaineers Club, the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Lillian loved to travel, visiting Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South America, Canada and traveling extensively throughout the United States. Her passion for teaching, photography, painting and the Fauntleroy Church, UCC, was matched only by her love of family and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She never stopped learning or teaching.
Lillian is predeceased by her five siblings and is survived by eleven nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephew and great-grandnieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
