Michael Manus

Contoocook- Michael Manus, 86, of Contoocook, NH passed away at home on January 2, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 29, 1929 to Peter and Mary (Tagis) Manus of Concord, NH. Michael graduated from Concord High School in 1948 and from Colby College, Waterville, ME, in 1953. He enlisted in the Army in 1956. Completing this, he enlisted in the Army Reserve, honorably discharged in 1963. He joined United Life Insurance Company in Concord, NH, working there as an agent, then representing United Life in Europe. After returning to the US he took on Purchasing Agent for them and retired in 1984 to manage his properties in Concord, NH. Michael was an active member of the Concord community through the Kiwanis Club and Concord Hospital trustees. Michael was an avid Patriots Fan enjoying Sunday football with his whole family. He was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pamela Manus and his children, Debra Love of Chichester, NH, Brenda White of Contoocook, NH, Stephanie Carter of Jamestown, NC, James Manus of Culpeper, VA, Jean Gearing of Contoocook, NH and John Allen of Medford, MA along with their spouses and 15 grandchildren. There will be a private graveside service for his family. This spring there will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family for a time for them to share memories, laughter and many, many pictures. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michael’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project, any local SPCA or the local Concord Regional VNA Hospice House.
