

Richard W. Berthiaume, 92, of Dunbarton N.H. passed away at the Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center in Bedford, N.H. on June 7, 2025. Richard was born in Manchester N.H. April 4, 1933, to the late Aime G. Berthiaume and Marguerite M. (Peloquin) Berthiaume and grew up in St. Anthony's Parish with his surviving sister Pauline Sauvageau.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and full time National Guard his life of military service spanned 37 years during which Richard accrued over 16000 hours of flight time as an aviator. During Richard’s service he was awarded several commendations, including a Vietnam Service Ribbon holding 3 stars, of which he was rightfully proud. Richard’s retired life was spent quietly and comfortably enjoying crossword puzzles, watching sports, film noir, civics and politics.
Richard is survived by his two son’s Steven R. Berthiaume of Merrimack, NH, and his son Richard D. Berthiaume of Port Charlotte, FL. He is also survived by his grandson Richard D.S. Berthiaume of Merrimack, NH, his granddaughter Amanda L. Berthiaume of Concord, NH, his sister Pauline Sauvageau of Manchester, NH, and daughter-in-law Margarita Berthiaume of Port Charlotte, FL. In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his wife of 59 years Eileen I. (White) Berthiaume, with whom he met in England while serving in the U.S. Air Force and married in London, England on March 19, 1955 and his son David C. Berthiaume of Merrimack, NH.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held on Wednesday. June 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. All are invited to attend. A luncheon will be held after the graveside service at 2:00 PM at the Bennett Funeral Home banquet facility, 209 North Main Street, Concord, NH.
