
He was the son of George J. and Minna (Eichenaur) Bottcher.
Born in Queens, NY he moved to NH in 1976. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1966-1970. He served on the Concord Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic until his retirement in 1998. He was Deputy Chief with the Loudon Fire Department until he retired from that position in 2010. He was also a CPR and EMT Instructor.
When not working, he kept himself busy enjoying his many other interests. He was a Merrimack County 4H Leader, a livestock supervisor at the Rochester Fair and most of all enjoyed going to WDW.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Nancy (Bird) Bottcher; two daughters, Lara Sheehy and her husband Josh of Loudon and Christine Hawkins of Beverly Hills, FL. He was a devoted Boppa and Gampa to Dylan and Kayla Sheehy of Loudon. He was a special Boppa to many children and a father figure to others.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 2p-4p and 6pm-8pm at the Bennett Funeral Home 3 Church Street Chapel (the Brick Building).
Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to NH 4H Foundation, Taylor Hall, 59 College Road, Durham, NH 03824-2621 or to the Concord Fire Fighter Relief Association, 150 North State Street, Concord, NH 03301.
