
Born in Nashville Michigan on April 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Cecil G. and Oneta (Edwards) Harris.
He served in the United States Navy on the destroyer Charles R. Ware from 1957 to 1961. After being honorably discharged he joined the U.S. Army and served at Bad Aibling Station in Germany and Homestead, Florida. He retired as a Master Sergeant of the U.S. Army Reserves in 1993.
Robert was a Mechanical Designer for Brew Corporation in Concord, NH before becoming Senior Mechanical Designer at Cabot Corporation Billerica, MA until he retired in 2005.
He was a loving father and devoted husband. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycles and traveling the globe.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol (Streeter) Harris of Chichester; his 2 sons, Matthew A. Harris of Concord and Isaac W. Harris of Brookline, MA; his daughter Emily E. Harris Tobin and her husband, Keith of Boston, MA; his sister, Sharron Crist and her husband Frank of Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Harris was the brother to the late Faye Arlene McCrimmon and Artis Wilkins.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at 1:00 P.M. at Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church Street, Concord. Committal with Military Honors will follow at 2:30 P.M. at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord-Merrimack County SPCA, 130 Washington Street, Penacook, NH 03303.
