Roland found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He and his wife, enjoyed square dancing, and he loved gardening, often sharing the fruits of his labor with others. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to him, filled with cookouts and games of horseshoes. Many summer afternoons were spent relaxing on the porch or by the open garage, listening to the ballgame on the radio, especially the Red Sox.
