

She was born in Ft. Fairfield, Maine on January 18, 1915, the daughter of William and Mary (Clark) Hitchcock.
Velma graduated from Ft. Fairfield High School and Lawrence Memorial School of Nursing in Medford, Massachusetts.
She worked as a Registered Nurse in Waltham Hospital, Waltham, Massachusetts, then as Head Nurse of the Emergency Room and Outpatient Department for four years until 1945.
She served as a 2nd Lt. in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Vern Clark. She is survived by two sons, David Clark, and Matthew Clark and his wife, Dawn, of Newbury, NH; two daughters, Jean Riddle and her husband, David, of Sewickley, PA, and Susan Jensen and her husband, Dug, of Sitka, Alaska; four grandchildren, Glenn Riddle of Wexford, PA, Gordon Riddle of Allison Park, PA, Christian Jensen of Seattle, WA, and Isaiah Jensen of Sitka, Alaska; and three great grandchildren.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 13th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., in Concord. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14th at 12:30pm in the funeral home chapel, followed by committal prayers and interment at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, #104, Manchester, NH 03101, in memory of Mrs. Clark.
