Alec Calvin Sigmon

Born July 19, 1999 in Catawba county, he was the son of Eric Calvin Sigmon of Claremont, NC, and Christy Jeanette Sigmon of Claremont, NC. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont and was currently a sophomore at Bunker Hill High School. Alec enjoyed attending camp at Luther Rock, hiking, spending time outdoors, and video gaming.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joy Edwards Perry.

Survivors include his father, Eric Calvin Sigmon and friend, Penny Newsome, of Claremont; mother, Christy Jeanette Sigmon and friend, Michael Pope, of Claremont; sisters, Jessica Joy Sigmon and Julia Jeanette Sigmon, both of Claremont; and paternal grandparents, Jimmy Sigmon and Carolyn Sigmon of Claremont; aunts, Jennifer Joy Perry of Greenville, NC and Melissa Fields and husband, Bill, of Mint Hill, NC; and uncle Maran Sigmon and wife, Keva, of Boone, NC.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont, NC. Reverend Dr. Gary Haddock and Reverend Paul Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 6, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church: 3216 West Main Street, Claremont, NC 28610.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Spencer Whisnant, Dijoun Huitt, Kevin Robinson, Schuyler McVige, Gage Isenhour, and Michael Schultz; and honorary pallbearers will be: Jacob Turner and the Bunker Hill High School Family.
