Barbara Perkins Hinson

Barbara Perkins Hinson, age 86, of Newton passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. Born in Virginia on Tuesday, November 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Perkins and Mrs. Minnie Pearl Black Perkins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hinson; and sons, Robert Allen Hinson and Howard Dale Hinson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Lonnie (Melinda) Hinson; daughter, Pamela Gail Hinson; grandchildren, Bobby Allen Hinson, Brandon (Tamara) Hinson, James Hinson, Melondie Hinson, Micheal Hinson, Jason Cuthbertson, Daniel Cuthbertson, April Dawn Hinson, Margaret (Joey) Elliot, Richard (Alicia) Hinson, Dale Christopher (Rhonda) Hinson, Bobby Joe Hinson, Timothy (Becky) Hinson and Jessica Hinson, and twenty-eight great grandchildren.

Barbara loved bluegrass music and traveled anywhere to enjoy listening to it. She liked to go to Hardee’s to eat and spent many hours playing bingo. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by all.

A Gathering of Friends will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 1:30pm-2:30pm at Drum Funeral Home Chapel in Conover, NC. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, NC.
