Born November 8, 1924, in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Victor Brooks, step-father AT Fox, and Lucy Brooks Fox.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Sandra Travis Ferringer; brothers, Howard Brooks, Glenn Brooks.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Bruce Hefner; son, Timothy B. Hefner and wife Beverly of Newton; daughter, Donna Barker and husband Terry of Newton; grandchildren, Darren Hefner, Kimberly Hefner; great-grandsons, James Hefner, Noah Hefner; 14 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at North Newton Baptist Church in Newton with Pastor James Hefner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, from 2 to 2:45 p.m.
