Earleen Huffman Bruce, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born July 2, 1933, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Pinkney Huffman and Rena Bolick Huffman. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Conover. Earleen was a devoted homemaker who nurtured all of the children in her neighborhood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rex Bruce; brother, Earl Huffman Jr.; and sister, Virginia Sipe.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tony Bruce and wife, Deedee; brother, Eddie Huffman and wife, Janice; sisters, Dorothy Willis and husband, Sam, Betty Hawn, Shirley Dellinger and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Kyle Hunsucker, Tiffani Bruce and Cassidee Bruce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. with Certified Lay Pastor, Eric Hauss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
